Budget/beginner inline skates (men's)
- Appropriate for beginning skaters
- Easy to maneuver
- Well-balanced, comfortable and stable
- Not as fast as larger-wheeled skates
The Rollerblade Astro 50 is the men's version of the well-reviewed Rollerblade Wing 50 for women (*est. $130). With their 80mm wheels, these inline skates are a better choice for novices that fancier skates with 90mm wheels, like the K2 Moto 90 (*est. $200), because experts say skates with smaller wheels aren't quite as fast and are easier to maneuver than skates with smaller wheels. Experts praise Astro 50 skates as comfortable, with good balance and stability. The women's version of this skate is the Rollerblade Wing 50 (*est. $130).
We were only able to find one review of Rollerblade Astro 50/Wing 50 inline skates, but it's from an excellent source: InlinePlanet.com, which discusses the pros and cons. We also found a handful of user reviews from Sports Authority and Dick's Sporting Goods, collated on the Buzzillions.com website.
Our Sources
Buzzillions.com doesn't let people post reviews directly. Rather, it culls user reviews from other websites. In the case of the Rollerblade Astro 50, most of the write-ups come from Sports Authority. Of the seven reviews, all but one are positive; the lone dissenter says the skates aren't padded enough.

This review is of the women's version of the Rollerblade Astro 50 skate, the Rollerblade Wing 50. Three former professional skaters find the skates comfortable and very well balanced. The adjustable brake is a plus, and the testers say they rode very smoothly over rough pavement.
