The sheer volume of positive reviews for the Vanilla Blackmail blows its nearest competitor, the Bont Jet, out of the water, perhaps due in part to the price difference -- the Bont Jet usually retails for about twice the price of the Vanilla Blackmail.

Although the Blackmail skates are fast, comfortable and lightweight, some reviewers complained that the boot is a little wide for narrow feet, and several mentioned very poor shock absorption on the stock wheels, recommending that you immediately purchase new wheels. Although this is a very good skate, especially considering the low price, it's not the highest-performance speed skate you'll find; just the best reviewed.
