Best aggressive inline skates

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Lightweight
  • Look good
  • Make some tricks easier
  • Footwraps double as shoes
Cons
  • Some questions about durability

Bottom line

The Xsjado ("Shadow") Avant 3 aggressive skate retains its line's reputation for comfort and thick soul plates that, in one reviewer's words, "allow you to pretty much grind on virtually anything." The Xsjado Avant 3 is light, with 57 mm/88a Avant Team wheels, Undercover Grind Rock II anti-rockers and ABEC 7 bearings. The Avant footwrap slides out of the skate frame and can be used as a stand-alone shoe.

Performance

A shadow in motion. The Xsjado (pronounced "shadow") Avant 3 combines the original Xsjado shell with updated soul plates from the Avant II. They generally fit true to size, and reviewers consistently praise the entire line for its great padding and comfort. They're also very lightweight, and even those who aren't really a fan of Xsjado products say the Avant line makes some tricks easier to perform. "The thick souls allow you to pretty much grind on virtually anything, they're really light, and with the new frame I can do much more then I thought I could do," writes one user at AggressiveMall.com.

Features

Fully dialed in. The Xsjado Avant 3 comes with Kizer Fluid 4 frames, 57 mm/88a Avant Team wheels, Undercover Grind Rock II anti-rockers and ABEC 7 bearings. The footwrap functions as a stand-alone shoe, so you can go straight from walking to skating in just a few seconds; an instep ratchet strap, toe strap and ankle strap all help lock your heels securely into the boot frames. Reviewers say that once you've got the fit dialed in, your foot won't move inside the boot at all. Just a couple people bring up durability issues, saying the cuffs don't always stand up to use from heavier riders.
