Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 isn't a significant update over the 2009 version, but reviewers feel that it has long been a comprehensive security suite. The software has a full range of features, including malware detection, content filtering, IM protection, firewall, identity theft prevention and parental controls. While experts are glad to see an improved user interface in the current version, most agree that Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 isn't the best choice for casual users who would rather "set it and forget it" -- Norton Internet Security 2010 (Discontinued) is considered a better and more cost-effective option.
Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 does have a number of innovative extra features, such as a "sandbox" which allows programs to be tested in isolation from the rest of the system, and a virtual keyboard, to help foil keyloggers. But critics are divided as to how useful some of these are, and they add that the features aren't always easy to find. Some also say that Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 parental controls and spam filter are unsophisticated, though core functions are praised.
Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 gets a lot of coverage from professional reviewers and passionate consumers alike. PCMag.com and CNET provide the most in-depth assessments, though British sites IT Reviews and Web User also add some perspective. Users on Amazon.com discuss the relative merits of Kaspersky, too.

Neil J. Rubenking reviews security software for PCMag.com, and addresses all the main features of Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 in his review. He likes the program's improved interface, and some of the advanced features, such as the sandbox. However, Rubenking finds that Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 takes a noticeable toll on system performance. Spam filtering is mediocre, and parental controls remain "unchanged and unimpressive."

2. CNET
CNET's Seth Rosenblatt reviews Kaspersky Internet Security 2010, giving it good marks. Malware protection is a plus, but Rosenblatt notes that the scheduler is "inexplicably" hard to access. Cost is another consideration. The review provides handy graphs that compare Kaspersky Internet Security 2010's performance footprint with Kaspersky Antivirus and a system with neither program installed.

IT Reviews critiques Kaspersky Internet Security 2010, finding the program to be "a tidy and professional piece of work." Most features are praised in this review, though Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 is said to nag users a little too much, making the program less than ideal for novices.

Andy Shaw takes a brief, though complimentary look at Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. Shaw notes that the suite caters more to advanced users than other security software. Ease of use and value for money are seen as areas where there is still room for improvement.

5. Amazon.com
Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 gets more than 50 user reviews so far at Amazon.com. While nearly half give the program the full 5 stars, nearly a quarter give Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 the lowest possible rating. All complaints have to do with system performance and software conflicts.
