The Griffin Evolve Wireless Sound System is unique because of its wireless speakers, which let you place additional speakers in other rooms without running wires. Experts and users alike appreciate that each of the Evolve's cube-like speakers has fingertip hooks on the back so they can be easily moved from room to room. The Griffin Evolve is also feature-rich; RCA-style audio-out, audio-in, composite video-out and S-Video-out ports all add to the speaker's overall appeal. However, almost all reviewers do note that the sound quality on the Griffin Evolve, while good, could be much better. Availability for the Griffin Evolve is getting slim, although you can still find it at a handful of online retailers. A newer wireless iPod speaker, the Creative ZiiSound D5 (*Est. $160), gets high marks for audio quality.
There are three extensive reviews for the Griffin Evolve from iLounge.com, Laptop Magazine and PCMag.com. The iLounge.com review is excellent because it tests the Griffin Evolve directly against its closest competitors. Laptop Magazine's review is strong, but not as comparative. Lastly, the PCMag.com review is helpful, but brief and overly critical in spots.

Jeremy Horwitz is very impressed with the Griffin Evolve, raving about the incredibly stylish design and how well Griffin is able to blend beauty and functionality. Certain features, like a powerful remote and battery, are also noted as pros. While Horwitz says the sound quality could be better, he adds that the Evolve's sound is "impressive by wireless audio standards."

As with other reviewers, Laptop Magazine likes the Griffin Evolve's attractive design and portability. Mike Kobrin also appreciates that the radio-frequency remote does not need to have line of sight to base station in order to work, a huge convenience. On the other hand, Kobrin is more critical of the Griffin Evolve's sound quality than iLounge.com is; he also points out that the speakers lack a 3.5 mm line input.

This PCMag.com review begrudgingly admits that the Griffin Evolve is undeniably "cool-looking," although Tim Gideon insists it's not worth its price tag because of its poor sound quality. Contrary to the other two reviews that give Evolve leeway because it is a wireless system, PCMag.com does not, saying "Evolve should sound much better than it does."

4. Amazon.com
User reviews here (over 30) are almost entirely positive. Though professional reviews give the Griffin Evolve mixed reviews for sound quality, users don't seem to care, saying that the "wow" factor and flexibility of the wireless speakers trump pretty much everything else.
