Despite its name, reviewers find the Harman Kardon Go + Play Micro a bit bulky for a portable iPod dock, and the required eight C-size batteries add to its heft. (You can also plug it in if you're staying in one place.) That said, the handle does make portability easier (at least out to the deck or yard), and the funky design is a definite attention-grabber. Most importantly, reviewers agree that the Go + Play Micro delivers exceptional sound, avoiding distortion even at higher decibel levels. Although the Harman Kardon speakers are thin on features (there is no radio or clock), the iPod-menu-navigating remote and multiple connection options are definite pluses. If your primary concern is portability, the Logitech S715i (*Est. $150) is slightly cheaper and gets great reviews.
