The Logitech UE Mobile Boombox is portable without being flimsy, presents respectable sound for its size and compatibility and is diverse enough to work with virtually all Apple devices. The speaker has built-in Bluetooth and reviewers say set up is a breeze.
Seamless Bluetooth; intuitive controls. The charm of the UE Boombox lies in its simplicity: Large buttons control Bluetooth and volume. Experts say pairing the speaker with devices is extremely quick and easy. CNET's David Carnoy notes he was able to do so almost instantaneously and says the ability switch between up to 8 different Bluetooth devices is a perk, although there is no play/pause button.
Rugged design, available in a variety of colors. While the UE Mobile Boombox is small and portable, the folks at Logitech spared no expense in ensuring it was still sturdy and reliable. The rubberized casing makes for a durable build and the metal grille ensures that you won't risk damaging the drivers. Additionally, the Boombox is available in multiple shades.
Impressive battery life and sound quality. One major factor with any portable device is its battery life, and multiple tests suggest the UE Mobile Boombox will outlast many of its rivals. Jeremy Horwitz at ILounge.com clocks the device's battery capacity at 10 hours. PCMag's Will Greenwald says the 50-foot Bluetooth range held true, pumping out "clear" and "warm" sound quality. Horwitz agrees, saying that the speaker works fine even with some minor obstructions. Experts conclude that the Mobile Boombox pumps out impressively clear sound for its price, design and size. Customers at the Apple website rate this little powerhouse highly, citing it as a great tool for home audio; one user says that they use the speaker to stream Pandora, iTunes and an app that plays "sleep sounds."
