Good saw, November 1, 2009This Bosch 1590EVSK is a very good saw. Much better that any of the jig saws I have owned, such as milwaukee, makita, and craftsman. It is a heavy duty saw and is heavy. The only reason I rated it 4 vice 5… is for some perks that irk me. The quality of this saw lacks attention to detail. The casting parts could be machined and fitted better, the decals are outside the cut-out by a long shot and can not be removed without destroying them. The housing and plastic parts are scratched up, nicked, and feel cheap. The case is not as well designed as it could be, IMHO. The clips that hold the operator manual in place are not spaced right and too short to keep the manual secure. Mine keeps falling out. Maybe it is just mine. Overall the saw operates really fine and is heavy duty. A bit pricey but what isn't anymore. Cuts everything you throw at it and runs smooth and quiet.
OK saw. Dust blower very weak., September 23, 2009Great saw, September 13, 2009This is one heck of a jig saw and am extremely glad that I bought it. Provides great control and there is hardly any vibration. I recommend it without any reservations. If I were to point out one issue… with the saw, it would be that it does get a bit on the hot side after just a few cuts. However, the heat has not been a big issue for me since for the kind of work I do, I tend to switch between my circular saw and jig saw which gives it time to cool down.
Did The Job, August 11, 2009Jigsaw Makes Hubby Happy, August 7, 2009We checked the reviews before purchasing this product. It works smoothly, and my husband is very pleased. I ordered it so he could make the decorative handles for my little chicken coop. They turned out… well. Someone mentioned a problem with it overheating. My man says the way to avoid overheating is to run the saw at full speed. (He tells me the same thing about running my gas weed trimmer.) I'm looking forward to having my chance to play with this saw.

Based on rigorous tests of 13 jigsaws, this review concludes that although the Festool Trion PSB300 EQ jigsaw is the best, the Bosch 1590EVSK is superior when price is taken into account - "great quality at a great price." The Bosch cuts even melamine smoothly, but the barrel-grip version is judged uncomfortable because the grip is too big even for a large hand.
