Social networking sites are increasingly used as job search sites, and LinkedIn.com offers both features: you can build a social/professional network, post a resume and profile, and search job listings without leaving the site. You can even ask for recommendations from others in your network. When you indicate interest in a job, the site shows you who in your network already works at that company, giving you an inside track. A partnership with Twitter means you can cross-post to the two platforms and link your profile and resume on LinkedIn to your Twitter account. Job search and networking features are free. Premium memberships (*Est. $50 to $500 per month) get you things like a look at a certain number of profiles of people who work at a particular firm. Monster.com remains the biggest and most popular job site, so you may also want to post a resume there, according to experts.
Mashable.com, PCMag.com and About.com include LinkedIn.com on their lists of top job sites. Blippr.com has 110 reviews by users of the site.
