The Baby Jogger City Elite (*Est. $400) is the luxury addition to the line of Baby Jogger strollers. This all-terrain stroller features sturdy 12-inch "forever air" tires. Despite its name, this stroller is not meant to be a jogger -- the brand only recommends this model for up to 3 miles per hour (an average walking speed). Still, the large back wheels and lockable front swivel wheel --  aided by a superb suspension system -- give this stroller a smooth ride. Reviewers agree that the City Elite can handle even the toughest terrain. The stroller is universally praised for its canopy, which users say shield the rider entirely. The larger-than-normal seat is another highlight. The City Elite is suitable for children up to 75 pounds. Most similar models have a maximum weight of 50 pounds. The wide comfy seat makes this stroller a good fit for parents with older or taller children. Storage is ample, though a cupholder is not included. In fact, several reviewers note that despite the price, the City Elite does not include basic accessories. A weather shield or car seat adaptor will cost extra.

Where the City Elite really loses points with reviews is in its size. At more than 26 pounds, this is a big stroller. Some reviewers say they felt dwarfed by it. The City Elite does feature a one-handed collapse, but the fold is bulky at best. Storing or transporting this model can be problematic. The size of the stroller also hinders its maneuverability. The width of the back wheels is nearly 28 inches (most doorways hover in the 30- to 33-inch range). Navigating through crowded spaces or narrow areas can be a challenge, say reviewers. This stroller has the body of a jogger, reviews say, but it is unable to perform like one.

The Baby Jogger City Elite is often over shadowed by its sister models the Baby Jogger City Select and Baby Jogger Mini (*Est. $230). There are, however, some strong reviews of the City Elite. The most detailed, thorough review comes from Celebrity Baby Blog, which addresses everything from storage to maneuverability. Additionally, user generated reviews are a strong source of information on this model. Amazon.com and Buzzillions.com feature more than 20 reviews of the City Elite --most of which are balanced and detailed.

1. Celebrity Baby Blog

This top parenting site features several reviews of top-selling strollers. The review of the Baby Jogger City Elite is one of the most detailed. The reviewer addresses everything from storage to maneuverability. The reviewer praises the massive sun shade, the comfortable seat and the smooth ride. The stroller's large wheelbase and formidable weight are major drawbacks. The 5-foot 6-inch tester says she felt "dwarfed" by this model. She also says basic accessories (cupholder, weather shield) must be purchased separately.

2. ParentDish U.K.

The British edition of AOL's parenting site selected five models for their guide to all-terrain strollers. Hughes Joshi says that the City Elite is a well-thought out stroller. The writer praises the stroller's cushioning suspension and three large air-filled wheels, which lend a smooth ride. The supportive, reclining seat, ample storage and adjustable handles are also highlights. The one major drawback is the weight of the stroller.

3. Amazon.com

Amazon.com features more than 20 user-generated reviews of the Baby Jogger City Elite. More than half of the reviews rank the stroller 5 out of 5 stars. Reviewers are generally very positive, saying that the stroller is well made and durable. The large canopy is often praised for its size and stability. Parents also note that the seat is bigger than comparable models, making it a good choice for families with larger or older children. The stroller is also recommended for taller parents, who say that the handle height is great for longer strides. The one real drawback, say reviewers, is the size of the stroller. The back wheel base is larger than some narrow doors, and the stroller is too large to transport in small vehicles or stash in small closets.

4. Buzzillions.com

Buzzillions.com aggregates user-generated reviews from top stroller retailers such as R.E.I. and ToysRUs.com. More than 20 reviewers weigh in on the Baby Jogger City Elite, rating the stroller an average 4.6 out of 5 stars. Reviews range from vague to extremely detailed, but are all relatively positive. The one real gripe is the size of the stroller, which is substantial.

5. JoggingStroller.com

This retail site features reviews from the editors of JoggingStroller.com. Reviews tend to be detailed but focus on the positive points of the stroller. Editors say that the Baby Jogger City Elite is "perfect for the active, urban parent." They do warn, however, that this stroller -- despite its name -- is not to be used as a jogger. They also say that the base of the City Elite is slightly wider than comparable models, but the seat is larger and the maximum weight is 75 pounds. Families with older or taller children likely will be pleased.

6. Finding My Weight

This blogger provides a detailed, though informal, review of the Baby Jogger City Elite. The reviewer is particularly pleased with the City Elite's compatibility with the brand's Jumpseat (*Est. $100). This accessory, which has a 33-pound maximum, easily converts the stroller to a double. The reviewer also appreciates the large canopy, the "unexpected" storage pockets and the quick fold action. Behnke does say, however, that the under seat storage, while ample, can be difficult to access.
