Where to Buy

The Baby Jogger City Elite Double is the most luxurious model in the Baby Jogger double stroller line. The stroller features a narrower frame, wide, well-padded seats and a near-flat recline. It earns high reviews, with several owners referring to the stroller as the "Mercedes" of strollers. The adjustable handlebar makes the stroller well suited for taller parents. A seat back compartment and handlebar compartment provide plenty of storage, plus the stroller features 30 percent more room than other Baby Jogger models in the underseat basket.

Reviewers note that the relatively small 12-inch forever-air tires allow the stroller to maneuver through tight spaces and around sharp corners with ease. They also note that the stroller, while not suited for jogging, can handle rough terrain and provides a smooth ride. Users also praise the very quick and easy fold -- one of the most impressive of the stroller's features. Where the City Elite Double falls short, however, is due to its weight: At 38 pounds, the stroller is heavy compared to similar models. Reviewers say that the stroller is far too heavy to travel with, and can be difficult to take up or down stairs or load into a car. Also, the fold is relatively bulky, making the stroller unsuitable for families with smaller vehicles.

Formal reviews of the Baby Jogger City Elite Double are virtually nonexistent, with the majority of publications focusing on the stroller's single counterpart. User reviews, on the other hand, are plentiful. The most thorough reviews come courtesy of Buzzillions.com, which compiles owner reviews from various retailers and online sources. Amazon.com provides fewer reviews, but those they do feature are detailed and helpful.

Our Sources

1. JoggingStroller.com

There are only two owner reviews of the Baby Jogger City Elite Double on JoggingStroller.com, a very small number compared to similar models. However, both reviews are remarkably positive, with owners praising the stroller's stellar maneuverability, ample storage and quick fold. Editors do note that the stroller is all-terrain but not suited for jogging. More active families, they suggest, should try the Valco Tri Mode Twin (*Est. $700).

Buzzillions.com compiles owner reviews from retailer sites such as BabiesRUs.com, Target.com and REI.com. User reviews of the Baby Jogger City Elite Double are plentiful, with more than half rating the stroller 5 out of 5 stars. The only criticisms relate to the stroller's large size and considerable weight. Petite parents note that they were overwhelmed by the size of the stroller.

3. Amazon.com

Though owner reviews of the Baby Jogger City Elite Double stroller are limited, most users give the stroller high marks. The stroller's smooth ride, parent console and large, comfortable seats are touted by reviewers. However, several reviewers also note that the stroller is very heavy and remains bulky once folded. Even SUV-owning parents note that the stroller is difficult to store in even the largest of car trunks.

4. WhatMommyKnows.com

At this personal blog, Malika Risley, a mother of two, offers praise for the Baby Jogger City Elite (despite the misleading title of the review). The details of her experience with the stroller are vague, though she does note that she used it for approximately seven months. The stroller, she writes, maneuvers well, but is heavy when attempting to store or travel with. She also warns that, while the company is noted for producing jogging strollers, the stroller is explicitly -- as the company says -- not suitable for jogging.
