- Adjustable handlebars
- Quick-release wheels
- Optional double seat
- Durable
- Heavy and bulky
- Hard-to-adjust straps
- Unimpressive recline mechanism
The phil&teds Sport Buggy earns praise for being a versatile all-terrain stroller and receives good reviews from experts and owners. Owners love the optional doubles kit (*est. $90) that turns this single stroller into an inline double -- without the added width of a traditional double stroller. Most reviewers are impressed with this all-terrain stroller (which isn't meant for jogging), but we did find some small quibbles about its bulk. Several owners also cite the small canopy, the weight limit of 55 pounds and the lack of a cupholder as the downsides of this stroller. Overall, 2008 was a rough year for phil&teds, which had three safety recalls in that year alone. Several phil&teds models (including an early version of the Sport) were voluntarily recalled for issues concerning the folding mechanism and frame, so keep this in mind if you plan to buy a used stroller. The BOB Revolution (*est. $390) gets better reviews, is less expensive and has a higher weight capacity.
We found the best review of the phil&teds Sport Buggy (which is also called the phil&teds SP Single) at Which?, a U.K.-based consumer advocacy magazine. JoggingStroller.com, a retail site devoted to jogging and all-terrain strollers, features parent reviews on this stroller. "Target," a consumer television program based in New Zealand, also reviews the phil&teds Sport and compares it to other all-terrain strollers.

Review: Pushchairs, Editors of Which?, Apr. 8, 2008
The phil&teds Sport Buggy gets mixed reviews from owners on JoggingStroller.com. Some parents love it, but others say this all-terrain stroller is a disappointment. They cite its weight and bulk, hard-to-adjust straps, a canopy that is too low, and fabric that wears after extended use as evidence that there are better strollers out there.
