Strollers, Diaper Bags, Carriers and Other to Go Gear
by Denise and Alan Fields
Our Assessment

This excellent book includes buyer's guides and ratings of dozens of types of baby gear. The authors conduct hands-on testing and also interview parents, manufacturers and retailers. Parents posting to Amazon.com say this is the best baby gear book available, with plenty of current info and lots of attitude, including sections aimed at steering consumers away from unnecessary features. Although the authors focus mainly on reviewing stroller brands, they do single out a few jogging and all-terrain models as the top strollers in their class.

2. CookieMag.com

Jogging Strollers
by Catherine Coreno
Our Assessment

Cookie magazine tests 11 new jogging and all-terrain strollers, and assigns each stroller a rating for durability, ease of use and overall performance. We don't know how many testers evaluated each stroller, but at least one tester comments on each model. Still, the comments are balanced, and this is one of the few recent reviews that focuses exclusively on jogging and all-terrain strollers. Cookie also has individual reviews of several strollers, including a couple of jogging strollers.

Babble Best: Jogging Strollers
by Kate Bayless
Our Assessment Babble.com, an online parenting website, presents its picks of the best jogging strollers, testing 24 models and choosing six as the best. The BOB Revolution scores the Babble Best award. The reviews are detailed and balanced, making Babble a good cross-reference for other editorial and consumer reviews.

Buyer's Guide 2009: Strollers
by Tracy Teare
Our Assessment

Fit Pregnancy reviews 13 strollers in their 2009 buyer's guide, although most are of the traditional, four-wheeled variety. Its testing methodology is not completely explained, although it says every product has been tested by parents and "proven to be safe, practical and effective." Fit Pregnancy picks the BOB Ironman as the best stroller for outdoor parents, calling the stroller "built for speed."

Strollers
by Contributors to JoggingStroller.com
Our Assessment This retail site primarily focuses on jogging strollers, and editors allow parents to contribute reviews. Because of the large number of jogging strollers sold here, JoggingStroller.com is a pretty good place to check for user reviews. The most popular models only have about a dozen reviews, but the individual write-ups are detailed and useful.
6. Buzzillions.com
As of May 2009
Jogging Stroller Reviews
by Contributors to Buzzillions.com
Our Assessment Buzzillions compiles owner-written reviews from several sources; for jogging strollers, it gets most of its reviews from REI, Babies "R" Us and Toys "R" Us. There are a good number of reviews for the most popular jogging strollers, and the sorting feature makes it easy to see which strollers have attracted the best reviews.
7. Amazon.com
As of May 2009
Joggers
by Contributors to Amazon.com
Our Assessment Amazon.com lists nearly 300 jogging strollers, but the site is most useful once you have a stroller in mind. Many top-rated strollers, like the BOB Revolution, attract numerous reviews that help provide a more detailed picture of these jogging strollers.
8. ConsumerReports.org

Strollers
by Editors of ConsumerReports.org
Our Assessment In this older review, Consumer Reports rates eight all-terrain strollers and eight jogging strollers for safety and ease of use. However, most of the strollers reviewed have been discontinued.

Top Jogging Strollers
by Christine Luff
Our Assessment

Christine Luff, the running guide for About.com, offers her picks for the best jogging strollers. It appears that most of the strollers were not tested, but she provides her personal feedback on the strollers she owns and the reviews are pretty detailed. Single and double jogging strollers are discussed. (Note: ConsumerSearch is owned by About.com, but the two don't share an editorial affiliation.)

BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Review
by Stephen Regenold
Our Assessment

Stephen Regenold, a nationally syndicated columnist also known as The Gear Junkie, pens a detailed personal review of the BOB Ironman jogging stroller. Regenold isn't a big fan of running with a jogging stroller, but he tests out the BOB Ironman with his daughter over the course of two months. His review is very useful for its detail and balance, and we would rate this source higher if he reviewed more strollers.

Each stroller is also tested and reviewed by four mothers. From the phil&teds Sport, the Mountain Buggy Urban Elite, the Quinny Speedi and the Baby Jogger City Elite, Target picks the phil&teds Sport as the best buggy of the bunch. 12. Celebrity Baby Blog
Feb. 22, 2009
Stroller Review Roundup
by Editors of Celebrity Baby Blog
Our Assessment The Celebrity Baby Blog, run by People magazine, is a surprisingly decent resource for detailed jogging stroller reviews. The reviews are current and usually involve only one tester's opinion, but they provide good details that fill in the gaps from other reviews. They don't compare strollers or make any picks, but it is a useful cross-reference.

Strollers: Product Guide and Review of Styles, Features and Safety
by Editors of TheCradle.com
Our Assessment The Cradle provides a useful product guide for strollers, and it makes several recommendations for the best strollers in each category. However, it doesn't describe the strollers or explain why it picked the models it did.
28 Cutting-Edge Strollers
by Jessica Hartshorn
Our Assessment American Baby magazine highlights 28 "cutting-edge" strollers. Although the article is pretty outdated, many of the strollers are still on the market. This review is not very useful because the strollers were not tested and each model gets only a one-sentence description.

2008 Pregnancy & Newborn Readers' Choice Awards
by Editors of Pregnancy & Newborn
Our Assessment The BOB Ironman receives the Readers' Choice award for best jogging stroller, and the Baby Jogger Performance Single receives the Editor's Choice award for best jogging stroller. This article is not available online.
Run, Sister, Run!
by Editors of Pregnancy Magazine
Our Assessment Pregnancy Magazine highlights several "jogging strollers you'll actually use" in a short article. It doesn't appear any of the strollers have actually been tested, and each model only receives a brief, one-sentence overview.
Products We Love
by Editors of Arizona Parenting
Our Assessment The Teutonia is the only stroller to make it into Arizona Parenting's annual gift guide under the heading "stuff we love." It doesn't appear that the stroller was tested, but the editors like the customizable features and the canopy with built-in SPF protection. You can actually flip through the pages of the magazine online until you reach the stroller on page 27.

National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA)
by Editors of Parenthood.com
Our Assessment NAPPA uses independent judges and feedback from parents to assign its awards. The awards for 2009 are not announced until June, but it has informed the winners, who waste no time getting news of the award on their websites. The Baby Jogger Summit 360 is a winner of the 2009 NAPPA Gold award. We would rate this source higher if its testing criteria and tester evaluations were made public.
Award Winning Products
by Editors of Parent Tested Parent Approved
Our Assessment

The Baby Jogger Summit 360 wins a Parent Tested Parent Approved (PTPA) Media Award, but it's unclear what this award really means. PTPA says it uses a "panel of experts" to evaluate each entry, but we don't get to see the testing results or any negative feedback on any of the products. Like the National Parenting Publications Awards, we would rate this source higher if these details were made public.

Best New Strollers
by Editors of Parenting Magazine
Our Assessment Parenting magazine editors pick eight strollers in this undated report, including just one jogging stroller, the BOB Revolution. The testing methodology is not detailed, but Parenting says each stroller was picked based on feedback from their "mom testers." Still, there's not much detail here.
21. Baby-Gaga.com
As of May 2009
Jogging Strollers
by Editors of BabyGaga.com
Our Assessment Baby-Gaga.com provides some decent editorial reviews, but they are so old that they don't take into account new features or models. The vast majority of its top-rated jogging strollers are now discontinued.
