Juicers That Don't Squeeze You Dry
by Editors of ConsumerReports.org
Our AssessmentEditors of Consumer Reports test and rank 11 juicers, juicing apples, carrots, oranges and tomatoes. They score the models based on how much juice they extract from fruits and vegetables, how much noise they make and how convenient they are to use. Three models are recommended, and one is named a best buy. The editors note that useful features for a juicer include a wide feed tube (which reduces pre-chopping), a brush for cleaning the filter basket, an interlocking pulp container and a juice container. Unfortunately, this report has not been updated in more than a year.

Juicers Review and Compare
by Editors of Choice magazine
Our AssessmentThis publication is the Australian equivalent of Consumer Reports. Staffers test and rate 26 juicers for performance, ease of use and safety. They put the machines through their paces, juicing watermelon and pineapple together to see if the machines will choke on the combination of hard and soft fruits. They also test each machine on carrots, apples and oranges. Although most of the juicers rated in this report are not available in the U.S., several top-rated models have U.S. equivalents (the Breville Ikon BJE510XL, Breville Dual Disc Juice Processor BJE820XL, Breville Juice Fountain Elite 800JEXL, Breville Juice Fountain Compact BJE200XL and Breville Juice Fountain Plus JE95XL). Editors say the top-rated Breville juicers have large feed chutes, juice jugs and pulp containers, though they are also bulky and difficult to clean in a standard sink. In addition to juicer ratings and a buyer's guide, the article describes how juicers work.

Inexpensive Juicers
by Editors of Cook's Illustrated magazine
Our AssessmentEditors of Cook's Illustrated magazine test seven manual citrus juicers and one electric model to see how well they extract juice from lemons. Five models are recommended, one "highly" and two "with reservations." A paragraph summarizes each juicer's performance.

Electric Citrus Juicers
by Editors of Cook's Illustrated magazine
Our AssessmentEditors of Cook's Illustrated magazine review five citrus juicers. All five perform well and are recommended, but editors specifically name one top model and one best buy. A one-sentence description of each juicer's performance is given, but there is no explanation of testing methods.

Juicers
by Contributors to Amazon.com
Our AssessmentAmazon.com is an excellent site to visit to see how a juicer holds up over time. Several Breville models earn high scores from hundreds of owners, including the Breville Juice Fountain Compact BJE200XL, the Breville Juice Fountain Elite 800JEXL and the Breville BJE510XL Ikon. Black & Decker and Hamilton Beach also have well-rated juicers. The DeLonghi KS500 34-Ounce-Capacity Electric Citrus Juicer and the Cuisinart Citrus Pro Juicer receive some of the lowest ratings.
Best Small Appliances
by Kristin Donnelly
Our AssessmentFood & Wine magazine staffers tested 76 countertop appliances before selecting their favorites in nine categories, including juicers. The Hamilton Beach Big Mouth is their top juicer because of its easy assembly, large mouth (which reduces the need for pre-chopping), and "huge" pulp catcher. The Omega 4000 comes in a close second, and the Breville Juice Fountain Plus JE95XL, which has been replaced by the JE98XL) and Juiceman Pro, which has been discontinued, are the runners-up. Other tested juicers, if any, are not identified.
Juicers
by Editors of Bon Appétit magazine
Our AssessmentEditors identify three manual citrus extractors (the Metrokane L-Press Citrus Juicer, Oxo Good Grips Citrus Reamer and Amco Houseworks Enameled Citrus Squeezer) and three electric juicers (the Alessi Electric Citrus-Squeezer, Cuisinart CCJ-100 and Breville Die-Cast Citrus Press) that they say work well. The Metrokane L-Press Citrus Juicer is best for large fruits, and the Amco Enameled-Aluminum Citrus Squeezer works best with small fruits. However, the editors don't reveal their methodology or how many other juicers they tested.

Juicers Reviews
by Editors of ConsumerGuide.com
Our AssessmentAlthough several juicers are listed at this site, only three receive full reviews. Write-ups provide information about features and the pros and cons of each model. The site's reviewers like the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Pro for all-purpose juicing and the Amco Houseworks Citrus Squeezer for juicing citrus fruits.
9. Which? magazine
As of Nov. 2011
Juicer Reviews
by Editors of Which? magazine
Our AssessmentWhich? is a U.K. magazine that offers a detailed comparison and review of 21 juicers, nine of which are available in the United States. In the course of testing, editors processed 600 oranges, 10 pineapples, 150 beets and many other fruits and vegetables. The seven models named as best buys produce a good volume of juice quickly and with little noise, and they are easy to assemble, use and clean. However, only one of these models, the Samson 6-in-1, is available in the U.S. The recommended Breville JE4 Café Series Commercial is very similar, however, to the Breville Juice and Blend BJB840XL.
Juicers
by Vivian Jao
Our AssessmentEveryday with Rachael Ray Magazine offers a round-up of their favorite juicers. The article notes that machines were tested by juicing dozens of oranges. Unfortunately, it is unclear how many machines were tested in total. The William-Sonoma Two-in-One Citrus Juicer is no longer available, but other picks include the perennial favorite, the Breville Die-Cast Citrus Press 800CPXL.
Putting the Squeeze on at Breakfast
by Joseph De Avila
Our AssessmentJoseph De Avila tests five citrus juicers for The Wall Street Journal and shares his observations. The Metrokane L-Press Citrus Juicer is his favorite. He says that it is light for its size and that it easily squeezes all of the juice from citrus fruits. The Hamilton Beach Manual Commercial Juicer and the Breville Die-Cast Citrus Press also perform well, but these models are heavy, bulky, and expensive. Two lighter models, the OrangeX Chrome Juicer and the Metrokane All-Chrome Mighty OJ, produce unsatisfactory results.

Juicers
by Contributors to Epinions.com
Our AssessmentEpinions.com's method of selecting "top" products poses some problems. Although real-life use of a product can sometimes offer the best perspective, many models here get top ratings with so few reviews that it is difficult to see which models truly rise above the rest. Puzzlingly, some models, such as the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer 250 Watts, make the top-10 list despite extremely mixed reviews. However, the Breville Juice Fountain Elite 800JEXL, the Breville JE200XL 700 Watts Juicer and the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth 67650 800 Watts Juicer all receive high ratings with at least eight consistently positive reviews each.

Juicers
by Contributors to Cooking.com
Our AssessmentAlthough reviews at Cooking.com are generally brief, it is easy to sort through them to find bestsellers and top-rated models. Best-reviewed juicers include the Breville Juice Fountain Elite 800JEXL, the Breville Die-Cast Citrus Juicer 800CPXL, the Waring Citrus Juicer PCJ201 and the Cuisinart CCJ-100, all of which have at least 25 reviews with an average rating between 4 and 5 stars out of 5.
Real Simple's Top 20 Kitchen Tools
by Melinda Page
Our AssessmentReal Simple selects their top 20 favorite kitchen tools. Of these, only one juicer -- the Amco 2-in-1 Juicer -- is selected. Editors say that the "rustproof squeezer" helps to extract every drop of juice and that the substantial weight of the handles give plenty of leverage. Unfortunately, it is unclear as to how many kitchen tools were tested in total or by which criteria winners were selected.

Product Review: FreshForce Citrus Juicer from Chef"n
by Faith Durand
Our AssessmentThe Kitchn provides individual reviews of several editor-selected kitchen tools. The manual Citrus Juicer from Chef'n is praised by editor Faith Durand for its ability to extract all the juice from citrus, while keeping seeds back. The one drawback, she says, is that the size isn't large enough for a grapefruit.

A Juiced-Up New Year
by Charles Passy
Our AssessmentAlthough it's outdated, this is one of the least biased and most thorough reports we found. In a five-product roundup. Charles Passy concludes that there is no "one-size-fits-all juicer." Quiet machines may be slow, and ejection models can have small feed chutes. The Acme Supreme Juicerator 5001 (also sold as the Waring Pro PJE401) is rated best overall; it extracts more juice than most models and comes with basket filters for easy cleanup. The reviewer rating for best value goes to the L'Equip Mini Pulp Ejector Model 110.5, with its compact size and wide feed chute.
Citrus Juicers Tested
by Editors of Good Housekeeping magazine
Our AssessmentEditors compare three types of juicers: manual models, electric models, and handheld reamers (which they dismiss as messy and ineffective). Their favorite electric model is the Oster Citrus Juice and Serve Juicer, which they say consistently produces the most juice and is also easy to use. The Oxo Citrus Juicer is their pick for manual juicers, although it doesn't work as well with grapefruit as an electric model. Testing methods and other models tested are not mentioned.

The 2006 Vitality Plus Juice Extractor Test
by Editors of VitalityPlus.com
Our AssessmentReviewers at this retail website test eight popular juice extractors with 2.5 pounds of carrots and 2 pounds of spinach each. Detailed test results are provided for each model, and the short writeups include critical details. The information here appears to be less biased than at some other retail sites. The SoloStar-II SS-9002 and the Green Star 2000 earn top marks, and the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer is the least efficient of all the machines tested. Editors recommend low-speed juicers for the best juice extraction, but for those who prefer a high-speed model, the Juiceman JM418SS (discontinued) is their top pick. It should be noted that this test dates back to 2006 and it does appear that very little about the site has been updated recently. VitalityPlus.com also sells Green Star and SoloStar juicers, however, and we take the results with a grain of salt.

Best of Juicers Review
by Editors of 3Luxe.com
Our AssessmentEditors of 3Luxe.com recommend products based on reviews widely available online and in consumer magazines. Some products are also tested by staff, as appears to be the case with juicers. Their three recommended models are the Breville Juice Fountain Elite 800JEXL, Green Star GS-3000 and Waring Pro PJE401, but other brands reviewed are not mentioned or compared. A short description (focusing mostly on positive features) is given for each juicer.

Juicer Reviews
by Contributors to Viewpoints.com
Our AssessmentAlthough owners have posted reviews for more than 75 juicer models at this site, most get only a handful of reviews. The Jack LaLanne Power Juicer by far receives the most feedback, earning an average of 4.22 stars out of 5 from more than 200 users. Consumers praise this model as easy to use, easy to clean and a good value for the money. However, this evaluation conflicts with both professional reviews and user reviews from other sites. The Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Pro 800 Watt Juice Extractor 67650 gets the highest score, earning a 4.89, but is only rated by nine users.

Top 5 Juice Extractors -- Juicers
by Phylameana lila Desy
Our AssessmentAbout.com's guide to healing recommends five juicers and gives a brief description of each, with links to more detailed reviews for four of them. The Omega 4000 is her top pick, and the Acme 6100 is also highly recommended. The Miracle Ultra-Matic Juice Extractor is well rated, but she says it's probably too expensive for most home users. Reviewer Phylameana lila Desy doesn't discuss the criteria she used to choose these five juicers as her top picks. (Note: ConsumerSearch is owned by About.com, but the two don't share an editorial affiliation.)

Juicers
by Contributors to Target.com
Our AssessmentCustomers can post reviews for the products they've purchased, including juicers. However, there are few models that receive a large number of positive reviews. The models with the most reviews, the Koolatron Total Chef Juicin' Power Juicer and the Juiceman 2-speed Juice Extractor, got 3 out of 5 stars on average. Although a few models got higher overall scores, none had more than five reviews.

Juicers: A Consumer Guide
by Editors of Juicing.com
Our AssessmentAlthough this site sells juicers, its editors aren't afraid to compare the models they offer based on ease of use, yield, juice quality, reliability, power and the availability of replacement parts. The most highly rated models, the Acme Supreme Juicerator (models 5001 and 6001) and an unidentified Omega juicer, are praised for their yield, ease of cleaning and "cleanest pulp-free juice." For those wishing to make larger quantities of juice, the site recommends the Juiceman II and the Miracle Ultramatic MJ-7000 (both discontinued, but still available from some sources), which include self-extracting pulp mechanisms. Editors here are strong proponents of purchasing more expensive, durable models if you plan to juice daily.

The Healing Power of Juicing
by Cynthia Foster
Our AssessmentThis article discusses the practice of juice fasting. The author recommends the Omega 4000 for beginners. If you'd like to churn wheatgrass and stems, Foster suggests Green Power and Green Life juicers. However, all these models are sold through the website, and the recommendation may not be unbiased.
