The FirstBIKE balance bike is designed to help kids ages 2 to 5 years old transition to a pedal bike. With a lightweight, composite frame and a hand brake, FirstBIKE is one of the safest balance bikes on the market.
Highly adjustable. Weighing only 8 pounds, the FirstBIKE is lightweight and easy for children to manage. Unlike some of its competitors, the FirstBIKE's steering range is limited to prevent accidents; however, it lacks a foot stand, forcing kids to suspend their feet when coasting. The bike also features a drum brake for added stopping power and safety. One user on BalanceBikeShop.com writes, "The drum break is smooth and sure. That gives us both confidence."
The seat post has be raised for lowered to accommodate kids of different heights. A review on TwoWheelingTots.com said, "[I]t is incredibly easy to adjust and cannot rotate, thereby preventing the seat from swiveling." Together with its recessed bolts and hand brake, the FirstBIKE is one of the safest balance bikes on the market, reviewers say.
Composite frame. The frame of the FirstBIKE is composed of composite materials, rendering it virtually weatherproof. A review on TwoWheelingTots.com says, "With no paint to chip, metal to rust or wood to warp, the FirstBIKE is truly an all-season bike that will last for generations." The bike is compatible with a multitude of accessories, including a bell, basket, a lowering kit and a snow kit, which replaces the wheels with skis so your child can ride all year long.
Quick and responsive. Although reviews are sparse, those who do leave comments say FirstBIKE's customer service is acceptable. In one case, a BalanceBikeShop.com customer ordered the wrong bike and says, "They were quick to respond ensuring we got the right model." Another customer encountered assembly issues; after reaching out, the company contacted the owner within minutes. This sounds like a company that truly stands behind their product.
