The MAC Knives Mighty Chef is a chef's knife made in the Japanese style, with a stamped (rather than forged) blade made from very hard steel. This knife is available in both dimpled and standard styles, and in one comparative review the dimpled version had slightly better cutting performance. Reviewers say the Mighty Chef knife is light and flexible. Like other MAC knives, the Mighty Chef only receives a few reviews, but all are very positive. For another chef's knife that experts say is similarly sharp, reviewers recommend the Global (*Est. $200 for three).

CookingForEngineers.com recommends the MAC Knives Mighty Chef in a hands-on test, and About.com's guide to gourmet food, Brett Moore, chooses the knife as one of the best chef's knives on the market. Fewer than a dozen owners review this knife at Amazon.com, where it earns a perfect average score.
