The 46-inch Snapper NXT2346 lawn tractor (*Est. $2,800) earns praise from reviewers for its 14-inch turning radius and great performance both in side-discharging and mulching clippings. (Bagging isn't this lawn tractor's strong point.) It boasts some luxury features, including cruise control, push-button startup, a mesh suspension seat, LED headlights rated for 100,000 hours, electronic adjustment of cutting height and a superb digital dashboard display. If bagging clippings is a priority, though, or your lawn has lots of obstacles to mow around, consider the more expensive John Deere X304 (*Est. $3,600) -- though the version certified for John Deere X304 (*Est. $3,600).

We found excellent comparison tests of the Snapper NXT2346 at ConsumerReports.org, where it's ranked and rated along with 34 other lawn tractors plus 17 riding mowers of other types. Staff at MowersDirect.com recommend this specific lawn tractor for large, hilly lawns. We found no owner-written reviews of this luxury-level lawn tractor, but we did find an article at TheGadgetGuyColumn.com plus a video ad -- both of which show many details about the tractor's features -- and an interesting article about Snapper as a company at FastCompany.com.
