defective product, difficult to return -- cost hours, November 9, 2009

Advertised as a tilting monitor, i checked with a salesman on phone who assured me it could be swiveled all the way. i was on writing deadline and needed it quickly. when monitor did not swivel at all, i called to find out how to return it. was told i would have to pay big restocking fee. i decided to try to use it as is, being in such a hurry. it did not work, turned itself off after a minute. it was defective. i am very experienced with monitors, this one was broken. ensuing battle with snooty returns departments, reboxing, sending, took hours. bought one at office depot for less money that works perfectly. do not recommend buying from this outfit. they did refund my money with a note insisting the monitor DID work. they will sell it to someone else and have the same song and dance.

An ok monitor, September 12, 2009
had this monitor for over 6 months and it has been a good monitor but it has one issue.it is very washed out image which i fixed using the ati control catalyst software and adjusted the gamma.once i did that the picture quality is great and love the size, I've read that using the dvi connection somewhat fixes the washed out look but i only have vga for now.
Great monitors terrible service, August 13, 2009

After enjoyng this monitor for 5 mos the monitor quit one day out of the blue, giving me a flashing blue light that would not turn on or off or reset. After calling customer service they informed me that they would have to exchange the monitor and I would be reciving one in 1-2 weeks, I gave them my credit card number so that the monitor would be drop shipped to my door as the nearest UPS Store is 40 minutes away. Well it was delivered to the UPS Store anyways upon which I was never notified. Four weeks later when I called them and asked where my monitor may be they told me what had happened and said they had recieved the monitor the week before, again with no notification to me. I was told that they would two-day air the monitor to me. They asked for my credit card a second time and after I gave them 4 credit card including two no limit business cards that were declined by them, I had to tell them to just figure it out. The monitor did not come till a week later, I then left on business for 4 days so did not open the monitor until I got back. When I did the monitor was the wrong monitor, not only that but they had the wrong base in the box as well so I couldn't even use the monitor. I was told by customer service that nothing could be done about this mistake or any of the other mistakes, I had now been without a monitor for 6 weeks. They did tell me they were going to two-day air another monitor and this one would be a new monitor not a refabbed one. That was on August 5th it is now the 13th and I do not have my monitor. This last call offered me no tracking number as the monitor has not even been shipped yet as well as no resolve to make me a happy Samsung customer. In fact the final person that I spoke to in Executive Customer Service basically hung up on me when I expressed my unhappiness in thier ineptitude. Througn no mistakes on my part (besides from buying a Samsung) I have been without a monitor for two months. All the phone calls have lasted at least a half an hour, and while some promises have been made in a half-hearted attempt to resolve the situation none have been followed through on.

Excellent Quality, Perfect color, great buy, still works great after 1 year, August 9, 2009
I bought this a year ago to do graphics work, and the color balance looks great on Photoshop and other photo/video programs. Still works great, no dead pixels, no issues. I couldn't be happier. And, it's a great value also.
Own 2 225bw...sent this back, May 21, 2009
I purchased a Samsung 225bw a couple years ago and needed a 2nd monitor so opted for this thinking it would be the same if not better. What a let-down. Picture was totally inferior, major bleeding...had to send it back. Ended up finding a refurb on the 225 and purchased a second from that instead. Disappointing compared to the Samsung 225BW which is an exceptional monitor.

3. XBitLabs.com

XbitLabs.com tests a dozen 22-inch widescreen monitors, with the older Samsung 2232BW coming in second. The Samsung LCD monitor isn't tremendous in any area, but reviewer Oleg Artamonov calls it "free from drawbacks (for its class and its price, of course)."

4. Which.co.uk

Which? magazine is at the British equivalent of Consumer Reports. The report covers the older Samsung 2232BW. Reviewers say the Samsung is a decent monitor for everyday use, but not the best choice for watching high-definition video or gaming because of a slow screen speed.

5. BeHardware.com

BeHardware.com's Vincent Alzieu offers a very technical review roundup of about two dozen 22-inchers. The older Samsung 2232BW is one of just three recommended monitors -- "a great screen that is quite reactive, very attractive and with rather rudimentary ergonomics."
