February 2009. No professional reviews exist for the Samsung SyncMaster 2443BWX, but the overwhelming majority of owner reviews at Newegg.com are extremely complimentary. We include professional reviews for the older 245BW, including coverage by Consumer Reports. It's also worth reading our reports on the smaller Samsung monitors because they are similar to the SyncMaster 2443BWX, though not identical. Pros and cons for them appear to be about the same.
The Samsung SyncMaster 2443BWX is a nearly identical descendent of the much-praised but discontinued Samsung 245BW, the choice in many reviews as an inexpensive but versatile 24-inch LCD monitor for home use. The 2443BWX has a lower brightness rating than the 245BW, which could ease eyestrain depending on your lighting conditions. And it has higher resolution (1,920 pixels by 1,200 pixels) than its smaller siblings, the 20-inch Samsung SyncMaster 2053BW (*est. $240) and 22-inch Samsung SyncMaster 2253BW (*est. $290). Reviews say all of them offer excellent display of text, graphics and video and are fast enough for gaming. Some owner reviews decry the lack of an HDMI port, while others say just get an adapter and you're good to go. Some users wish the stand was more adjustable and viewing angles were better.
