Reviews say the LG 47LH55's price is attractive for a 47-inch LCD television, but there are some trade-offs. LG uses some techno trickery to transform a 120 Hz refresh rate into the equivalent of a 240 Hz refresh rate, though reviews say it isn't really the same thing. Unlike some competitors, the TV lacks any kind of Internet connectivity or networking capabilities. Finally, blacks could be deeper and the viewing angle wider. Colors, on the other hand, are excellent, and those can be tweaked to perfection by the great compliment of picture adjustments. If you have more to spend, the 46-inch Samsung LN46B750 (Discontinued) offers terrific performance and a more impressive lineup of features.
We found several reviews of the 47-inch LG 47LH55. ConsumerReports.org tests the most TVs and provides reviews that are balanced but not especially rich in details. Additionally, access is limited to subscribers only. Other quality reviews can be found at CNET, LCDTVBuyingGuide.com and PCMag.com. User reviews are scarce, however, though a very small handful can be read at Amazon.com.

Reviewer David Katzmaier rates the LG 47LH55 as "good," meaning that it provides decent performance for the money. He says the black levels are a bit washed out and viewing angles are too limited, but there are good color-adjustment options.

Reviewer Robert Wiley says the LG 47LH55 is "my favorite TV at the moment for an LCD in this price range" despite the somewhat "tinny" sound. He notes that the TV's simulation of a 240 Hz refresh rate is great for sports and gaming, but should be turned off otherwise.

Robert Heron gives the LG 47LH55 a "good" rating for being energy-efficient and providing decent performance for the price. He does complain, however, that the picture is somewhat softer than that of its competitors.

5. Amazon.com
Only a few owner reviews have appeared to date for this TV, including a handful here. All are positive, though one user complains that the lack of a coaxial digital audio input can limit flexibility with some surround-sound systems.
