The Samsung UN46B6000 is a 46-inch LCD television that gets mixed reviews. While picture quality is good, some flaws, such as poor off-angle viewing, are noted. Uniformity isn't horrible, but reviewers express disappointment in seeing areas of the picture that are brighter than others -- especially on a TV that costs this much. The Samsung UN46B6000 is a cheaper version of Samsungs UN47B7000 (*Est. $2,000) and lacks some of its features, such as Internet connectivity via Yahoo! Widgets (though more limited Internet access is provided) and Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) compliance for streaming of movies, photos and more from other devices. Key features -- such as an LED backlight and a 240 Hz refresh rate to minimize motion blur -- are carried over, however. If LED backlighting isn't a must-have, reports say that the conventionally lit Samsung LN46B750 (Discontinued) offers great picture quality, a 240 Hz refresh rate, lots of additional features, and a lower price.

Our Sources

1. CNET

David Katzmaier gives the Samsung UN46B6000 a "very good" rating, though about 15 owner reviewers are a bit more impressed. Katzmaier says that picture quality is very good, but flaws such as uneven uniformity and poor off-angle viewing are noteworthy negatives. A screen that's more prone to reflections than most other LCD TV is another disappointment. Styling is enhanced by a very thin profile, but not everyone will like the red-tinged bezel.

3. TelevisionInfo.com

This long, technical review ultimately suggests the Samsung UN46B6000 is a "good" TV, but not one that's worth its cost. Reviewer Alfredo Padilla criticizes viewing angle, screen reflectivity, some picture artifacts and "limited" Internet content availability.

4. BestBuy.com

More than 40 user reviews combine to give the Samsung UN46B6000 a high average score. A few owners who give it the maximum score of five do say that the sound quality isn't impressive, though some add that's to be expected given the model's thin depth.
