Review reflects use as a conventional television, November 18, 2009

If you have an HD cable connection or can receive sufficient channels through an external antenna, the Vizio provides a very satisfactory picture but sound that is unsatisfactory. In our case an extra HD box would run about $16 / month, which is too much to spend for a kitchen television. Unfortunately, switching between antenna use and non HD cable is very awkward. The result is we use the TV as a conventional set. The picture is not nearly as good as the small CRT set it replaced. It is washed out and colors are flat and can not be improved with adjustment. The sound was so poor that I connected a small hifi to the unit via the earphone jack, which did greatly improve the sound. My impression is that other 19" sets share these deficiencies.

Great quality TV, have another Vizio 37in, love it. decided to try smaller version, no surprise it has the same Great Quality picture and sound. Got it on sale only made it an even easier choice, I am going to get another for the bedroom.
very good, September 9, 2009
This 19" vizio was perfect for our needs. This item is lightweight, easy to install. The picture quality could be a bit sharper but perfect for a spare tv in kitchen or extra room. All in all, we are happy with it.
19" Vizio, August 25, 2009
The TV works perfectly as described, only problem I found is that it does not support PAL cable format. Other then that it is a great TV for a small room or even to double as a computer monitor.
After 1 Week No Sound, August 14, 2009
I received the TV, installed it and after 1 week the TV lost it's sound. I heard a loud humming noise coming from the speakers, I originally thought it was interferance so I changed locations of the TV to a different room but no luck Humming was still there. I contacted Amazon and had a new TV for my son before I could package up the old one to return it, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

2. Dell.com

Less than a third as many post reviews here as at Walmart.com. Still that's enough feedback to see that the 19-inch Vizio VA19L largely fills the bill for its owners. Overall, the LCD TV earns a rating of 4.8 out of five, with no one awarding it less than three stars. Picture quality and value are pluses. Complaints are mixed, though we did see some comments about the bezel being too large and prone to reflections.

3. Amazon.com

Fewer owners post here than elsewhere, but all seem just as happy. Picture quality and value are complimented. Most say that the sound is fine as well. A few note that the tuner does a good job even under difficult conditions.
