The LSW120 is part of a new series of Black & Decker outdoor power tools that use 20-volt Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries; the batteries are interchangeable among all of the new tools. Li-ion batteries are lighter than the Ni-Cd batteries used by, for example, the older Black & Decker NS118 blower; as a result, the LSW120 weighs only 3.8 pounds. Black & Decker says the Li-ion battery holds a charge longer as well, but owners dispute this, saying both types of batteries hold a charge for about 15 minutes. The Black & Decker LSW120 is quiet at 66 decibels. If you'd rather buy a cordless blower that's been in use for longer and has accumulated more reviews, the Black & Decker NS118 (*Est. $70) cordless sweeper costs a little less and gets excellent ratings from owners.
