The Lehr BV025HH Eco Blower is powered by propane. It uses the same 16.4-ounce propane canisters that are used for camping stoves and portable grills. These canisters are not refillable, though they are recyclable, and reviewers say a canister provides about two hours of run time. Unlike most handheld gas blowers, the Eco Blower also vacuums and mulches leaves. It is heavy for a handheld blower at 11.9 pounds, and it is as noisy as most gas blowers. However, it's much more eco-friendly, having won an EPA Clean Air Excellence Award. It carries a two-year warranty, with three years on the carburetor. If you want a handheld blower that doesn't require a cord, the Husqvarna 125B (*Est. $150) costs less and has more power, though it is not as eco-friendly.

Reviewer Rich "the Tool Man" lists and briefly describes the five best gas leaf blowers, and he includes the Lehr Eco Blower among them in fifth place. He says he's including it because it is less polluting than other gas blowers, but he notes, "this unit isn't giving up power to be eco-friendly, either." It's not clear if this model was tested.

The editors of ToolSnob.com explain that they received a Lehr Eco Blower to try out and review. They say they like this blower a great deal, but they complain a little about vacuum function. The bag that comes with the blower is black, they write, so you can't see how full it is, and their bag broke apart in a short time.
