Where to Buy

Table appeal is the one feature that a stoneware loaf pan has over metal or glass -- and if you're willing to spend a little extra money for this decorative advantage, user reviews suggest that you can't go far wrong with the Le Creuset Deep Dish Stoneware Loaf Pan. These attractive pans have a classic loaf shape and come in four colors. The enameled interior coating has natural nonstick properties, so foods are easy to remove. Users posting to retail websites say that it bakes well, cleans very easily and makes a great serving piece after baking is completed. The sole complaint comes from one user who says that the pan does not thoroughly bake through to the bottom of the loaf.

Because the Le Creuset loaf pan is scratch-resistant, it's a good choice for serving, and because it's freezer- and dishwasher-safe, it's good for storing and reheating items as well. On the downside, stoneware is heavy, and it can break if dropped. Furthermore, stoneware and glass loaf pans have more rounded edges and corners than metal loaf pans, so your baked goods won't have the crisp, sharp corners of store-bought items.

We didn't find professional reviews for the Le Creuset loaf pan, but we did find more than 50 user reviews at various retail websites including Cooking.com, Macys.com and the website of the Food Network store.
