Although some refer to the Osprey Shuttle 32 as a rolling duffel, most reviewers see it as lightweight, soft-sided luggage with exceptional internal organization. Spacious main and secondary compartments; numerous zippered mesh organizers; zip-close side compartments; and a quick-access, external slash pocket make it easy to stash -- then recover -- just about anything in this durable bag. It provides 6,713 cubic inches of packing space, but weighs only 8 pounds, 13 ounces.
Holds almost anything. Some reviewers refer to the Osprey Shuttle 32 as a duffel -- but because it lacks a duffel bag's characteristic top-carry handle, we consider it a soft-sided case with primo organizational skills. Stowage options include the spacious main and secondary compartments (separated by a bellows divider), dual front and side mesh organizers inside the main compartment, top slash pocket and dual zip-close side compartments. The Shuttle 32 also has attachments for docking with an Osprey AddOn daypack or almost any courier bag and oversize wheels make it easy to move around.
Stands up for itself. No soft-sided luggage can offer the same protection as a hard-shell suitcase, but the Osprey Shuttle 32 makes a good showing for itself with its heavy-duty nylon construction; secure, lockable zippers (provide your own lock); and stiff foam padding that both protects the contents and gives the bag some shape, even when its only partly filled. "This duffle stands up to some of the worst abuse I've ever seen," writes a field technician who travels regularly with the Osprey Shuttle 32. It's covered by a lifetime warranty "for any reason," which only excludes normal wear and tear.
Too much of a good thing? The Osprey Shuttle 32 offers a boast-worthy 6,713 cubic inches of carry capacity, yet weighs just 8 pounds, 13 ounces. Reviewers say its large, polyurethane wheels handle well, even on a gravel path or grass. Once packed, it'll even balance upright on its own. The only potential downside is that the Osprey Shuttle 32 is so large, it can easily hold more than the typical 50-pound weight allowance on domestic airlines. The Shuttle 32 is available in two colors -- charcoal gray and juniper -- and two additional sizes: 28 inches (Est. $259) and a 22-inch carry-on (Est. $229).
