Newman's Own Organics Pop's Corn Light Butter gets the best write-up at Health magazine, but the article is no longer available online and you'll need to buy a back issue to read it. Cook's Illustrated's 2003 review of microwave popcorns reviewed the Newman's Own Organics Pop's Corn Butter rather than the Light Butter, but the article is available online for free. The reviews on Amazon.com are too few to be a fair consensus at this writing, but some likely will be added over time.

Not many organic microwave popcorns are reviewed, but we've included newman's Own Organics Pop's Corn Light Butter in ConsumerSearch Fast Answers largely on the strength of a positive rating by Health magazine; with 4.5 grams of fat per serving, it isn't as "buttery" as some other contenders, but it's judged better than others. A review of the full-butter organic popcorn from Cook's Illustrated said it tasted weird, like "dried shrimp," although we found no corroboration in the few customer reviews on Amazon.com. The Light Butter organic version had mixed reviews from customers on Amazon.com, the main complaint being blandness. The Health magazine review had Newman's Own Organics Pop's Corn Light Butter placing second among 14 products, behind Smart Balance Light Butter (*est. $3.50 for three 3.5-ounce bags). The Smart Balance popcorn is not organic, however.

2. Cook's Illustrated Magazine

3. Amazon.com

We'd like to see at least ten customer reviews for anything approaching a fair consensus, and at this writing there were just six on Amazon.com for Newman's Own Organics Light Butter, three giving it the maximum five stars and three giving it two. The three detractors called Newman's Own Organics Pop's Corn Light Butter "bland."
