This microwave also uses inverter technology, which delivers continuous cooking power for more even cooking. Cooking and defrosting performance are excellent, according to one expert test, and owners like the stylish stainless-steel exterior and roomy interior, which can accommodate a 9-by-13-inch baking pan. However, this model takes up considerable counter space, and some users think its control panel is not very intuitive. In addition, we saw a number of reliability complaints, with several owners reporting the same problem -- over time, this microwave's light turns on and its turntable rotates, but the microwave doesn't heat. We found that other microwaves with inverter technology receive similar complaints. The GE Profile JES2251SJ has a one-year warranty, although its magnetron tube (the element that creates microwave energy) is covered for five years.
