Sharp R-305KS

Although there are smaller microwave ovens available than the 1-cubic-foot Sharp R-305KS, owner ratings of really small models aren't very positive. Reviews are much better for midsized ovens like this Sharp, which is fairly compact for its capacity (a width of about 20 inches and a depth of about 17 inches). Although owner-written reviews at Amazon.com are generally good, we did find a smattering of durability complaints, two of which involved burning smells. This basic microwave oven includes four defrost, six cook and six reheat options, a popcorn button and shortcuts for melting, softening and warming. However, if a cubic foot of space seems too small, you may want to consider the well-reviewed 2.2-cubic-foot GE Profile JES2251SJ (Discontinued). This oven receives comments from owners posting on Amazon.com and at Sears.com as well.
