Models similar to the Sharp R-426LS microwave oven are included in Consumer Reports' constantly updated ratings. An earlier version, the Sharp R-426HS (*est. $160), is praised by Good Housekeeping magazine. We found quite a few positive comments from owners posting on Amazon.com.

Reviewers say the stainless steel Sharp R-426LS is much more elegant-looking than other microwaves, and it will fit in well if the rest of your kitchen appliances are stainless steel. This microwave also scores well in cooking tests, especially for its sensor cooking. The Sharp's black and stainless-steel door hides the controls, giving the front of the microwave a smooth, uninterrupted appearance. This large 1.4-cubic-foot microwave has sensor controls, one-push buttons for common items like popcorn and auto defrost, and a 30-minute keep-warm feature. However, if stainless steel isn't an important consideration, consider the slightly smaller Sharp R-305KS (*est. $120).
