Unlike most cube mini fridges, the 1.8-cubic-foot Danby DAR195BL uses a compressor instead of a thermoelectric system, which doesn't cool as reliably. It has no freezer, so there's more space to store beverages and perishables. The DAR195BL has one and half wire racks, a can dispenser in the door that holds up to six cans and room for a 2-liter bottle. The door is reversible, but this mini fridge comes only in black. If you'd like a little more storage room than this small model provides, the Danby DAR259 (*Est. $150) has a capacity of 2.5 cubic feet and gets good reviews.
We relied mainly on owner reviews of the Danby DAR195BL at CompactAppliance.com and other online retailers. Planet Green, a Discovery Channel website that focuses on environmental issues, has a short write-up about the DAR195BL as well.
