Haier HNSB02

Reviewers say that although small mini fridges aren't generally as effective as counter-height options, the Haier HNSB02 works well enough for a dorm room. The 1.7-cubic-foot refrigerator measures about 18 inches wide by 19 inches deep and 20 inches high. Users at Walmart.com and Amazon.com say that it's the perfect size for the office or a small dorm. It easily fits under a desk and has plenty of room for a few drinks and a sack lunch. The fridge also does a good job of keeping food and drinks chilled. Unlike some cube fridges, the HNSB02 uses a compressor and coolant rather than thermoelectric cooling (which can't achieve very cold temperatures). This means that it can keep perishables at safe temperatures. It has 2-liter bottle storage on the door, a slide-out wire shelf and a half-width freezer with a tiny ice cube tray. Some users say that the freezer doesn't get very cold, though. If you prefer a more effective freezer, experts recommend two-door units, such as the Sunpentown RF-320 (Discontinued). One further note: We found complaints that the Haier HNSB02 was damaged in shipping, so it might be better to buy this one from a store.
