Not to Amazon specifications!, October 20, 2009

I've enjoyed KitchenAid products for years so I was very interested in having the KHM7T replace my old lower-powered 5-speed KHM5DH. Amazon describes the KHM7T as having a 1.6 ampere motor rated at 200 watts. (Actually this should be more like 192 watts at 120 volts AC, but who's quibbling?) Imagine my disappointment when it arrived and proved to have only a 0.6 amp motor which rates no better than 72 watts. That's no better than my KHM5DH. I told KitchenAid of Amazon's error. There was no problem returning it for a full refund.

thought it was great until the attachment broke!, October 16, 2009

****update: KitchenAid's website sells the beater attachments now. $14.95 + 6.95 s&h + $2.50 CA tax... I'm not happy about having to spend the money to replace the attachments but at least they are available and I don't have a $70+ piece of junk I can no longer use.....**** f.y.i. I've had this for exactly 3 years this week and have used it a lot... mashed potatoes several times a year, same with fresh whipped cream but mostly I use it for cookie dough and I have made possibly a hundred dozen cookies for my husbands crews of cookie monster guys.... anyway, today the tine on the attachment broke! So far I have not been able to find a replacement anywhere on line. This hand mixer cost my friend $70.00 and hasn't even lasted 5 years. I used a hand mixer that my parents bought with GREEN STAMPS (that's how old it was when I got it....we are talking close to 40 years old and well used mind you, very well used) and I used this old hand mixer with great success for many years, at least a dozen, until the motor just finally stopped.... the tines were perfect even on the day I had to get rid of it.... I am really really disappointed with this set of attachments for Kitchenaid. Now that I look at it I can see how thin the tine is compared to the good, well working old set of attachments that lasted 40 years. So, to sum it up, it is true, they just don't make these like they used to and now they want you to spend a fortune to replace the broken attachments....because you can not find them anywhere....at least not regular beater attachments.... Regretfully, I do not recommend this mixer.... at least not unless they start selling replacements beater attachments....

DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID HAND MIXER, September 3, 2009

I received this mixer for a Christmas gift. The second time I used it the wire on one of the beaters came loose from the end of the beater. Now, after using occasionally for months, the entire wire on the beater broke completely off. I only have one beater now! KitchenAid customer service was not helpful - they told me I could buy a new set of beaters for $14.99 plus $6.95 shipping. We did not pay $69.99 for a mixer to have to replace the beaters for $21.94. I now own a useless product. I thought KitchenAid was a quality brand, I now know it is NOT!

Best Mixer, August 31, 2009
This mixer was highly recommended by America's Test Kitchen. I have always used them as a guide and they did not disappoint. This is a powerful, little machine. I'm very happy!
Now that I've used this for 6 months..., August 28, 2009

I LOVE this mixer. I was worried about the lightweight look of the beaters, but they handle the toughest cookie dough with no problem. I use it 2-3 times a week and it does everything I need. I'm glad I bought it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because after about 1 month the little circle on one of the beaters where it connects to the mixer broke off and fell into the dough. It hasn't seemed to make any difference in the performance of the mixer.
