Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is marketed as an anti-aging moisturizer with skin firming capabilities. Experts say results are minimal, at best, and likely a temporary side effect of the extra moisture the cream provides. It has more antioxidants that Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer SPF 15, Normal (*Est. $10 for 6 oz.), but it comes in unstable packaging that compromises their potency. A fragrance-free formula is also available.
Powerful ingredients in unstable packaging. Allure and Health magazines praise Micro-Sculpting Cream for containing lots of good-for-skin ingredients. Editors at Health magazine say the peptides help to firm sagging skin by "strengthening its moisture barrier." Allure magazine editors say the hyaluronic acid plumps skin immediately while the amino acids tighten skin over time. Skin care expert, Paula Begoun, on the other hand, says that the formula contains state-of-the-art ingredients, but it cannot live up to its promises of lifting sagging skin. She says, "Increasing hydration can make skin cells plump, but that doesn't restore volume to a face that is sagging due to the complex process of aging." She also says the jar packaging reduces the potency and stability of the antioxidants in this product.
Users at Amazon.com are likewise divided. Some say that it makes a noticeable difference in the firmness of their skin. Others don't notice any difference. One says, "I'm not sure this cream is any better than Regenerist Nightly Moisturizer … haven't noticed any real difference or improvement."
Silky smooth. Reviewers say Micro-Sculpting Cream is lightweight with a creamy texture. It feels silky on the skin but has a noticeable fragrance that is offensive to some users at Amazon.com. Most say that the scent fades quickly, however. Micro-Sculpting Cream is also available in a fragrance-free formula.

Review Credibility: Excellent Paula Begoun gives Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream a mediocre rating because its jar packaging doesn't provide a stable environment for the high level of antioxidants this formula contains. She says the formula itself is similar to other Olay moisturizers and is a "decent lightweight moisturizer for normal to slightly dry skin."
