Bottom line

Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Cream is marketed as an anti-aging cream, but the good-for-skin ingredients it contains are good for all skin -- aging or otherwise. The jar packaging, however, cannot maintain the stability and potency of these ingredients for very long. Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer SPF 15, Normal (*Est. $10 for 6 oz.), on the other hand, contains similar ingredients and is packaged better for long-term potency. 

Performance

Jar packaging diminishes the potency of stand-out ingredients. Night Recovery Cream, like most of Olay's Regenerist line, is loaded with beneficial ingredients.  Editors at InStyle magazine say it has a "generous helping of peptides and niacinamide, which have been shown to stimulate collagen and diminish the look of wrinkles." It also contains a fair amount of antioxidants. Skin care expert Paula Begoun says the jar packaging, which exposes the lotion to unwanted air and light, compromises these state-of-art ingredients' potency. Furthermore, the formula contains lavender and arnica extract, which are potential skin irritants. We didn't come across any complaints about irritation, however. Instead, users at Drugstore.com say the moisturizer produces noticeable results in the form of improved skin texture. One user says the formula improved his dry skin but adds, "… it claims to get rid of wrinkles and tighten your skin … which I haven't really noticed."

Feel & Smell

Immediate hydration. According to editors at InStyle magazine, Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Cream offers plenty of hydration without any of the irritation that comes with many anti-aging formulas. One user at Drugstore.com says, "… my skin feels really good after application." Some don't like the scent,, but they say that it fades quickly.
