Trek 3700

Pros
  • Price
  • Component quality relative to price
  • Durability
Cons
  • Derailleurs, shifters could be better
  • Shocks not meant for hard riding

It's hard to find reviews for budget mountain bikes, but the Trek 3700 is an exception. We found more than 200 owner-written reviews for this bike. We did see comments from owners that the stock derailleurs and shifters aren't great, and many owners upgrade components as needed on this bike. But despite these complaints, most owners say the Trek 3700 is a great starter bike for those who don't plan on hard or competitive riding. The Trek 3700 is a hardtail (fixed rear) bike with 63 mm of travel in the front suspension and efficient geometry in the frame. If you can spend more, we found good reviews for the Iron Horse Warrior 4.0 (*est. $800), a more expensive mountain bike with full suspension.

Cumulatively from various review sites, we found more than 200 owner-written reviews of the Trek 3700 budget mountain bike. Buzzillions culls reviews from dozens of smaller sites, making these write-ups a good place to start. We found longer, more detailed reviews at MTBR.com, Dirtworld.com and Singletracks.com.
