Reviewers have traditionally had mixed reactions to the iPod shuffle, but experts say the fourth-generation shuffle is the best one Apple has produced. Unlike the previous version, which had no physical controls, the new iPod shuffle has buttons on the front that make it much easier to control your music. The square design is small and lightweight, and the iPod shuffle has an integrated clip for running or going to the gym. Reviewers also like the VoiceOver feature that announces your song selection or battery life when you push a button on the top of the player. The battery lasts more than 15 hours, which is another plus. The iPod shuffle comes only in a 2 GB capacity, and many reviewers wish for more storage space. It's also difficult to open the clip without accidentally pressing the buttons on the front. If you don't want an iPod, reviewers recommend the SanDisk Sansa Clip+ (*Est. $35 for 2 GB), which is also small and lightweight.
We found the best reviews of the new iPod shuffle at technology sites like iLounge.com, Laptop Magazine, Macworld, CNET and PCMag.com.
