The Brother MFC-7460W is a monochrome laser MFP that reviewers say does a good job with printing, scanning and copying. It includes a range of features that are handy for office use, such as a built-in fax, a 35-page automatic document feeder (ADF), automatic duplex printing and a paper capacity of 250 sheets. Its connectivity features, however, are limited. The 7460W MFP can connect to a network through Ethernet, but not wirelessly, and it lacks memory card and PictBridge support for photo printing.
Reviews show that this printer is fast (about 24 pages per minute, or 12 in duplex mode) and produces excellent-quality text, although its graphics quality is only so-so. Scan quality is good, but one reviewer says the scanner is a pain to use. This printer has very low paper and toner costs; one source estimates them at a mere $2.90 a month. If you don't need the fast, cheap document printing a laser can offer, you might prefer the Canon Pixma MX882 (*Est. $150), which has many of the same office-friendly features plus photo printing capabilities.
We did not find as many reviews for this laser printer as for most inkjets covered in our sources. The Brother MFC-7460W is included in tests at ConsumerReports.org, and it also receives fairly detailed write-ups from PCMag.com and the British computer publication ITReviews.com. This printer doesn't have a ton of user reviews at Amazon.com, but they are all positive.
Reviewer David Stone gives the Brother MFC-7460W a rating of 3.5 stars out of 5. Although he finds its speed and text quality merely average, he does say it "offers an attractive balance of speed, output quality, size, paper handling, and functions."
