Reviewers say the HP Photosmart C6380 is essentially the same as the top-rated HP Photosmart Premium Fax C309 (Discontinued), only with the faxing and automatic document feeding features removed. It prints, copies and scans, and has Wi-Fi capability for wireless networking (Bluetooth is an optional add-on). The C6380 all-in-one printer does look rather different from the Premium Fax, though reviewers are pleased overall with the C6380's aesthetics. Paper handling is basic, with a 125-input tray and a dedicated 20-sheet photo tray, but construction appears sturdy. Testers are ambivalent about print quality, but agree that the features and performance all around are good for the price.
Prolific printer reviewers CNET, TrustedReviews.com and PC World all take a look at the HP Photosmart C6380, and are generally positive. Though other reviewers have yet to take a look at this new all-in-one, it already has more than enough user reviews at Amazon.com and Newegg.com to get a sense of customer satisfaction.

Justin Yu at CNET evaluates the HP Photosmart C6380, calling it an essentially stripped-down version of the HP Photosmart Premium Fax -- although it beats the Premium Fax on some of CNET's speed tests. Yu praises its speed, value and ease of use, but warns that photo output will not satisfy professional photographers.

Simon Williams gives the HP Photosmart C6380 a Recommended award, citing ease of use and inexpensive running costs. He also praises photo output, and print speeds are described as "reasonable." However, Williams complains of excessive noise during regular operation -- he says most print tests "were preceded by 20 to 25 seconds of squeezing or chewing noises, presumably some kind of ink priming."

The HP Photosmart C6380 is tied for first in PC World's list of Top 10 Inkjet Multifunction printers (along with the Canon Pixma MX700). In her review, Melissa Riofrio feels that the C6380 is best suited for home users. Riofrio finds the 2.5-inch LCD too small, and notes "orangey" flesh tones when using HP's photo paper, although print quality is otherwise good. She concludes that the C6380 is a bit lacking in features for its price.
