Reviewers recommend the Ikea Joakim Swivel Chair as a good budget choice. This task chair doesn't have as many adjustment options as high-end models, but testers say there are enough to make it comfortable for most people. The gliding seat makes it possible to recline easily, an attribute missing from even some high-end models. In addition, the 10-year warranty is good for this price point. However, the Ikea Joakim isn't available in leather, and there are just three fabric color options: red, dark blue and gray-blue.
We found few professional review sources for low- and mid-priced ergonomic office chairs. The Joakim chair is available only from Ikea, and there are no user reviews on the Ikea website. Reviews in MyBusiness and Wired magazines recommend the Ikea Joakim, although neither provides information about formal testing.
