Office Star Air Grid Deluxe Task Chair

  • Breathable mesh
  • Several adjustability options
  • Good value, reviewers say
  • Not for shorter users
  • Some quality complaints
  • Non- adjustable lumbar support

Bottom line

One of a burgeoning number of Herman Miller Aeron look-alikes, the Office Star 5560 offers the breathability of mesh at a lower price point. Reviewers say adjustability is good for the price, too. However, some complain the seat is too deep for shorter workers, and others wish for adjustable lumbar support. There are also a handful of quality complaints, including reports of wobbly armrests.

Comfy fabric, but iffy for shorter users. The Office Star 5560 features a breathable mesh seat and back. Reviewers say the fabric is comfortable and cool, allowing for good airflow. They praise the chair for accommodating a large range of body types, but several note the seat may be too deep for shorter users. The chair features built-in lumbar support and adjustments for seat height, tilt control and tension, and armrest height. While some reviewers praise the lower-back support, a few note that they can't lock the back into a comfortable position. There is no headrest available.

Some minor issues. The Office Star 5560 has a weight capacity of 250 pounds. Most reviewers are satisfied with the chair's quality, especially given the price, but several owners say the armrests are noticeably wobbly, and a few others report that the mesh began to sag after normal use. Office Star backs the chair with a limited lifetime warranty on parts and limited three-year warranty on fabric, but only when the chair is used for less than 40 hours a week. For greater usage, the warranty is reduced to five years on parts and one year on fabric.
