Aurora AS420C Desktop Crosscut Shredder

Compact paper shredder

Pros
  • Small size
  • Can shred credit cards, paper clips
  • Inexpensive
Cons
  • Must fold office paper before shredding
  • Can't shred unopened junk mail

The Aurora AS420C Desktop Crosscut Shredder is a small desktop shredder with a 1-gallon bin and small footprint, helpful if you want something to shred receipts, junk mail and the odd office document. Because this shredder's feeder slot is small, standard-sized office paper needs to be first folded in half. Editors at Bestcovery.com, a site devoted to budget products, recommend the AS420C although they do not provide details on product testing. More than 140 owners at Amazon.com are happy with it, saying it's a good option for light-duty use. A full-size shredder will save you from folding, and you won't have to empty the bin so often. Among budget standard shredders, we found solid feedback for the Fellowes Powershred W-11C (*Est. $65).

User reviews form the largest body of testing for the small Aurora paper shredder. Bestcovery.com gives the shredder a short write-up.
