February 2009. CNet.com has the best coverage of the Palm Tungsten E2, including a video with its written review. There are also about 130 owner reviews – less than half as many as you'll find at Amazon.com, but still a significant sampling. PC Magazine's website and MobileTechReview.com are as credible as CNet.com, just less easy to navigate. And Consumer Reports includes the Palm Tungsten E2 in its roundup of 10 PDAs.
Reviews say the Palm Tungsten E2 is a good basic business PDA if your needs are mostly working with documents (PC or Mac). It's not equipped with Wi-Fi, but you can surf the Internet by using the Bluetooth capability to connect with a compatible mobile phone. The E2 can play music and video, but reviewers note that the 200 MHz processor is slow and not great for video. PC Magazine reports that it squeezed eight hours of battery life out of the E2 between charges, but as with other Palm PDAs, you can't remove the rechargeable battery (so you can't carry a spare). The 90-day warranty is a big drawback noted in user reviews. For a bit more money, you can get a one-year warranty, a faster processor and Wi-Fi with the Palm TX (*est. $260), which reviews say is the best mid-price PDA.

1. CNET
On this top-five list (with links to full reviews), the Palm Tungsten E2 is highly rated. Despite the lack of Wi-Fi, CNet.com reviewers say it's "a sleek combination of productivity and entertainment." A large number of user comments accompany the review.

PC Magazine's Sascha Segan says the Palm Tungsten E2 is a "good choice for a basic business PDA" that looks good and has battery life of nearly eight hours. However, it isn't really powerful enough for good video. The handful of owner reviews, however, are uniformly negative, with complaints about usability, durability and the short warranty period.

Reviews here are very thorough and based on hands-on testing, including battery life (good). The Palm Tungsten E2 gets an Editor's Choice award as a "midrange PDA selling at a near-bargain price," but the review makes it clear it's "not for power users who crave the very fastest processors."

4. ConsumerReports.orgDetails/Subscribe
The Palm Tungsten E2 is one of just 10 PDAs rated at Consumer Reports, but within that limitation, coverage is good. Ultimately, eight of the ten PDAs are recommended.

5. Amazon.com
More than 350 owner reviews posted to Amazon.com give the Palm Tungsten E2 a good combined score, but the ratings are all over the map. Some of the complaints say a 90-day warranty is too short and the Tungsten E2 died soon after coverage expired.
