Reviews say the Dell 2400MP is the best portable digital projector for business or school use. It's bright enough (rated at 3,000 lumens) for larger rooms and has the high resolution (1,024 pixels by 768 pixels) needed to present spreadsheets and large flow charts. At 5.5 pounds, it's fairly portable. The one-year warranty (90 days on the bulb) is short compared to other projectors, and some reviews recommend the three-year extended coverage (*est. $170). Some owner reviews complain about the replacement-lamp cost (*est. $380). Reviews are mixed on the 2400MP's ability to display video, but all agree it does an acceptable job. If your needs don't include the ability to display spreadsheets and detailed charts, the NEC NP100 (Discontinued) is a lower resolution, less expensive projector that's a good match for displaying PowerPoint presentations.
The Dell 2400MP has been around for quite a while, and reviews are plentiful. The best can be found at ProjectorReviews.com and ProjectorCentral.com. Reviews at those sites are thorough and unbiased, and the sites' reviewers specialize in projectors. Laptop magazine also has a comparative and detailed review of the 2400MP. PC World's staff review is no longer online, but the lab report remains and is useful if you want very detailed information at a glance. Dell's website is the best place to read owner reviews.

Review: Dell 2400MP Portable Projector Review, Art Feierman, July 25, 2006
This review stresses the Dell 2400MP's "good features at a great price." It notes that "a DVI or HDMI port would have been useful for connecting high-end video cards, but in a mobile presentation projector, that feature would likely go unused by most buyers."

Review: Dell 2400MP Review, James Stevenson
At this writing, the Dell 2400MP has the second-highest score among projectors rated here, including many newer models. The staff review is no longer posted online, but the lab report and a handful of owner reviews (four out of five stars overall) are still available.

5. Dell.com
Although almost all the owner reviews on the Dell website rate the 2400MP highly, the format includes disadvantages as well, and they are varied. The bulb gets the most complaints – it's too hot, burns out too fast and is expensive to replace.
