The Sony DVP-FX930 portable DVD player delivers with excellent video quality on a 9-inch display that experts say is one of the best on the market. Watching DVDs on the Sony DVP-FX930 is very versatile, since you can open it like a normal DVD player or swivel the screen 180 degrees to use it as a tablet. The portable DVD player is available in five colors: black, white, blue, red and pink. Sony claims six hours of battery life, which is confirmed in a test conducted by CNET. However, the Sony DVP-FX930 portable DVD player lacks a USB port and can't play DivX video, which is a notable downfall in reviews. In addition, several professional and user reviewers complain about Sony's new "light touch" buttons, which are said to be unresponsive and annoying to use. Still, reviewers say the Sony DVP-FX930 is a great portable DVD player overall. If you would prefer a portable DVD player with DivX compatibility, we also found great reviews for the Toshiba SDP93S (*Est. $165), which can play DivX video and includes an SD card slot.

CNET and TrustedReviews.com provide the best coverage of the Sony DVP-FX930, and both sites test and rate the portable DVD player. There are also a good assortment of owner-written reviews on sites like Amazon.com and Walmart.com. In general, these user reviews echo the conclusions of professional testers.
