Reviews say the Toshiba SD-P91S is a good portable DVD player overall. While picture quality isn't dazzling, the screen is clear and flexible enough for viewing in a variety of locations. Dual headphone jacks are another plus. The key to the Toshiba's appeal seems to be its rich feature set for the price. The Toshiba SD-P91S can play a wide variety of formats, including DivX and MP3 files; it has a USB port and a slot for SD and MMC memory cards. There's a one-year warranty on parts and labor, about as good as you'll find. CNET advises buying an inexpensive laptop computer instead, but if you want an ultra-cheap portable DVD player, reviews for the 7-inch Coby TF-DVD7377 (*est. $85) are better than average.
