According to reviews, the Fagor Duo 8 Quart pressure cooker is the most solid buy. Its biggest competitor, the Kuhn Rikon Duromatic 7.4 Quart (*Est. $200), costs twice as much and lacks an audible or manual locking system. Reviewers say that the generously sized stainless-steel base is great for caramelizing foods before cooking. The Fagor Duo is also available in 4-, 6- or 10-quart sizes.

We read the most recent review of the Fagor Duo pressure cooker in Choice magazine, where editors compare its cooking performance and ease of use against seven other models. Another comprehensive review by Cook's Illustrated magazine put the Fagor Duo and five other pressure cookers through rigorous testing. To assess owner satisfaction with the Fagor Duo 8 Quart pressure cooker, we turned to Amazon.com, where this cooker has been positively reviewed three dozen times. We also consulted a handful of reviews of the Fagor Duo on the Macy's website.
