Reviewers say this pressure washer provides enough power at 2,600 pounds per square inch (psi), with a 2.3 gpm flow rate, to tackle most homeowner tasks such as washing big decks or even siding. The axial cam pump is typical for this price range, but the CARB-certified Honda GCV OHC engine is a highlight, as are the no-flat tires and two-year warranty. Sears sells a Craftsman model, the 20432, that's virtually identical; the two brands are manufactured by the same company, MTD. If you plan to use a pressure washer more than about 20 hours a year, however, consider spending more for the 3,000-psi Ridgid RD80701 (*Est. $600), which has a better pump and a faster 2.6 gpm flow rate.
Buyer's guides at FineHomebuilding.com and The-Power-Washer-Advisor.com don't test specific models, but put the power and build quality of the Troy-Bilt 20415 into context. Owner-written reviews at Lowes.com and Sears.com are also useful.
Close to 85 owners review and rate the Troy-Bilt 20415 on Lowes.com. The average rating is 3.4 out of 5; almost all the complaints are about the pump, with some owners saying it doesn't last long. The motor is routinely praised, however.

Owners reviewing the Craftsman 20432, which is virtually identical to the Troy-Bilt 20415, give it an average rating of 4 out of 5. About 35 people have posted reviews on Sears.com; the reviews there list pros and cons, which is helpful. Interestingly, there are few complaints about the pump; most seem to concern annoyances like the difficult-to-use (for some) hose reel.

3. Fine Homebuilding
This well-illustrated article recommends choosing, for cleaning siding, a pressure washer that provides about 2,500 psi. The Troy-Bilt 20415 certainly meets that requirement.

This buyer's guide doesn't test specific pressure washers, but evaluates types of pumps, noting that the axial cam pump used on the Troy-Bilt 20415 isn't the most durable type, or cost-effective to repair.
