Small businesses looking for a sensible, wired inkjet should like the Epson WorkForce WF-7010. It offers quality prints at sizes up to 13 by 19 inches, double-sided printing and two trays for ultimate efficiency.
Quality images at a competitive price. Epson's wide-format WF-7010 caters primarily to business needs. The printer accommodates paper up to 13 by 19 inches, but you can feed paper measuring up to 13 by 44 inches through its paper drawer, PCMag.com reports. Paper handling is generally strong, although some foibles are reported. One user says the printer has trouble with standard business envelopes and business cards.
While print quality is fine for general office use, you might want a printer with higher-quality output if you need to impress an important client, says PCMag.com's M. David Stone. The WF-7010 is fast, most reviewers say; one Amazon.com user notes that even if it doesn't deliver at the pace Epson advertises -- 15 pages per minute for black and eight for color – it's still quick.
Duplex printing, two trays improve efficiency. Key features of the Epson WorkForce WF-7010 include automated double-sided printing and dual paper trays that hold 250 pages each. Both trays hold a variety of paper types, including envelopes, A4, legal or letter-sized sheets. This is helpful for businesses wanting to dedicate one or both trays to specific paper sizes. The printer isn't exorbitantly large when you consider that it can produce big prints.
Automated duplex printing doesn't seem to work for 11-by-17-inch prints, several reviewers say. The WF-7010 has no wireless or PictBridge connectivity, but does have Ethernet and USB.
Easy on the ink. While lots of printers draw complaints from owners regarding ink usage, the Epson WorkForce WF-7010 isn't among them thanks to the ample capacity of its cartridges. User reviews do point out, however, that if one ink cartridge runs out, all of them stop working. Printer longevity isn't addressed in owner feedback, but we see no complaints of the WF-7010 meeting an early demise.
