The HP Photosmart D7560 is the best budget inkjet printer with an LCD display screen, according to reviews. The 3.5-inch touch screen is beneficial for previewing photos when printing from a memory card or from your camera via a PictBridge port. As a menu display, some reviews find the screen a bit small. Most reviews say the print quality is excellent on photos and OK on text. With a U-shaped paper path, card stock or stiff envelopes could be difficult to feed. The HP Photosmart D7560 can print on specially coated CDs and DVDs, but reviewers say the print quality isn't great. Some reviews find the software difficult to use. Ink replacement will run about $50 total, about average. If you don't care about an LCD screen and want better text printing, the Canon Pixma iP4700 (*Est. $100) gets the best reviews in this price range, and it costs a bit less.
The HP Photosmart D7560 gets thorough reviews at PCMag.com and ConsumerReports.org. Both rely on sound testing and do a good job of ranking printers in comparison with others. DigitalTrends.com doesn't cover as much of the inkjet-printer market, but it offers a well-done review of the HP Photosmart D7560 printer. We also found more than 65 owner reviews at Amazon.com, and some echo professional criticism of the software.

After testing the HP Photosmart D7560, reviewer M. David Stone says it's a surprisingly fast and versatile home-use printer, doing good work on text and graphics and a "superb" job on photos. Another plus is an ability to print on CDs and DVDs, but the touch-screen menu is described as a bit too small.

Review: Ratings: Printers -- Regular, Editors of ConsumerReports.org, Dec. 2008
DigitalTrends.com is credible, basing its reviews on decent testing. The HP Photosmart D7560 gets a score of 7.5 out of 10 as a good overall printer, but the review notes that the ink is expensive and the desktop software is a "bloated chunk of bits and bytes" that takes too long to install.
